State Health Research and Policy Interest Group Meeting
Saturday, June 23, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

This meeting’s program will be formed from a Call for Papers that offers researchers, policymakers, and practitioners the opportunity to share recent state-level research that emphasizes the unique challenges of working within a state policy and political environment.

State Health Research and Policy Interest Group 2006 Policy Breakfast

On Tuesday, February 7, a Policy Breakfast was held during AcademyHealth’s National Health Policy Conference. This Commonwealth Fund- and AcademyHealth-sponsored event was held to enhance communication between researchers and state policymakers seeking to improve health system performance. The program focused on how researchers and policymakers interact at different times during the policymaking process, as well as on effective communication strategies for researchers and policymakers seeking to improve health system performance in their states.

Panelists from the breakfast meeting included:

  • Jack Meyer (Moderator), president, Economic and Social Research Institute
  • Allyson Hall, director of research, Florida Center for Medicaid and the Uninsured
  • Richard Kronick, AcademyHealth/NCHS fellow, National Center for Health Statistics
  • Scott Leitz, director, Health Policy Program, Minnesota Department of Health
