Annual Research Meeting: State Health Research and Policy Interest Group

AcademyHealth Interest Groups advance the research base of focused topics by providing an avenue for health services researchers, policy professionals, and practitioners to share information, showcase their research, network with peers, and learn more about those topics. AcademyHealth membership is not required to participate in the Interest Groups.

In conjunction with AcademyHealth’s Annual Research Meeting (ARM), the State Health Research and Policy Interest Group will meet on Saturday, June 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. The group's goals are:

• To provide a forum for health policy analysts, researchers, and policymakers to interact and discuss state-level research, research related to state health policy, and health services research;

• To facilitate the development of a network of researchers and analysts with a state-level health policy focus and to encourage collaborations across state-level household surveys on issues of coverage and access; and

• To foster dialogue among and between state- and national-level health services researchers and policy analysts.

The preliminary agenda for the State Health Research and Policy Interest Group meeting includes:

*Presentations on building research and evaluation capacity, how research can inform decision-making, and how to meet the needs of users of research.

*A poster session featuring state-level date collection and research translation cases, many of which focus on coverage issues
