2012 State Health Research and Policy Interest Group Call for Abstracts

The State Health Research and Policy Interest Group Meeting’s Call for Papers offers researchers, policymakers, and practitioners the opportunity to share recent state-level research and policy developments regarding coverage and access, the organization and delivery of care, and the challenges of financing and payment reform – all with an emphasis on the unique challenges of working within a state policy and political environment. Papers that demonstrate novel approaches to addressing state policy research needs, effective strategies for collaborating with state agencies and policy decision makers, and promising strategies for translating research to policy are also sought.  Finally, we welcome papers that communicate successful strategies, as well as those which critically analyze sub-optimal approaches, but offer useful lessons and highlight opportunities for improvement.

Research and policy papers of particular interest include those that address: 1) coverage/access; 2) delivery system transformation/quality improvement; or 3) payment reform/incentive realignment.

The 2012 State Health Research and Policy Interest Group meeting will be on Saturday, June 23 in Orlando, Florida. The meeting is held in conjunction with the 2012 AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting.
