On June 7, the State Health Research and Policy Interest Group held its summer meeting in conjunction with AcademyHealth’s Annual Research Meeting. The meeting brought together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners interested in state-level health care issues.
This year's meeting featured sessions on evaluating state health reform efforts and the politics of health reform, state health research applications, and care coordination and delivery for vulnerable populations. Those sessions included updates on health reform in
Massachusetts and Medicaid reform in
Florida, a review of telephone surveys as a mechanism to capture insurance coverage, an evaluation of medical homes for Medicaid-enrolled children in
Minnesota, and an analysis of the role of insurance continuity in diabetes preventative care in
Oregon's Federally Qualified Health Centers.
