New Webinar: Microsimulation Strategies for HSR
Live, Online Learning Opportunity
November 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m.
Microsimulation is an extremely useful analytic technique that can be used to demonstrate potential policy implications of research findings, or to estimate the impact of proposed policies. Join AcademyHealth’s upcoming webinar, Microsimulation Strategies for HSR, to learn about simple simulation models that can be performed using Excel or other spreadsheet programs, as well as more complex regression-based approaches and agent-based models. The specific topics that will be used in this session are particularly relevant to the current health reform discussion, and will focus on take-up of Medicaid and private insurance, and eligibility for insurance subsidies and credits. This webinar is essential for researchers and policy analysts interested in developing a deeper understanding of microsimulation models, or those who want to develop their own microsimulation applications. All examples will be illustrated using standard statistical software (e.g. SAS).
This live webinar will take place Tuesday, November 17, 2009 from 1-2:30 p.m. EDT. After this session, you will be able to:
- Describe key components of simple simulation models, as well as more complex agent-based models;
- Provide knowledge of approaches and tools that enable researchers to develop and run their own simulation models; and
- Demonstrate simulation models and discuss interpretation of results.
