The annual Health Policy Orientation continues to give participants an in-depth understanding of the formal and informal processes shaping the nation’s health policy agenda. With expert faculty members, group discussions, hands-on tutorials, and a congressional site visit, participants gain an understanding of the Washington health policy environment and master the fundamentals of policy development and implementation.
The Orientation is ideal for health policy fellows and analysts, public officials, federal or state government employees, private sector health care employees, consultants, and students.

NCHS/AcademyHealth Health Policy Fellowship

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) and AcademyHealth are seeking applicants for their 2010 Health Policy Fellowship. This program brings visiting scholars in health services research-related disciplines to NCHS to collaborate on studies of interest to policymakers and the health services research community using NCHS data systems.

MCRR Call for Papers
Medical Care Research and Review is producing a special issue titled “Implementation and Outcomes Associated with the Patient-Centered Medical Home.” The aim of this special issue is to assess current evidence on medical home implementation and effectiveness, particularly as it relates to the above components either in isolation or together. The special issue focuses on these areas because they are central to long-term sustainability and acceptance of the medical home concept by payers, patients, and providers. Medical Care Research and Review is actively soliciting empirical analyses, conceptual papers, and syntheses of existing studies that deal directly with implementation aspects of the patient-centered medical home and/or a variety of clinical, administrative, patient-focused, and workforce outcomes that may result from effective implementation. The call for papers submission deadline has been extended to September 30, 2009.
