HCFO Releases a New Findings Brief
Health care decisions are complex and often high stake, in terms of both health outcomes and costs. While some organizations have developed decision support tools to inform health care decision making, public use and adoption remain low. To assist health care decision support tool developers, Jessie Gruman, Ph.D., president of the Center for Advancing Health, and colleagues conducted case studies of four decision support tools widely used in other industries, evaluated which variables were key to the success of these tools, and discussed the implications of these findings for the design, development, promotion, and business model of health care decision support tools.
