Grantees in the News

Jeanene Smith, M.D., administrator of the Office of Oregon Health Policy and Research, spoke at the Health Resources Commission on July 20, 2007.   Dr. Smith completed HCFO-sponsored research that examined how benefit reductions and increased cost sharing impacted the Oregon Health Plan.

Edmund F. Haislmaier cited HCFO-sponsored research lead by Mark A. Hall, J.D., professor of law and public health at Wake Forest University, in the July 2007 Heritage Foundation article, “State Health Reform: How Pooling Arrangements Can Increase Small-Business Coverage.”  The December 2000 Milbank Quarterly article, “Purchasing Cooperatives for Small Employers: Performance and Prospects,” co-authored by Hall, evaluates the primary and secondary effects of state health insurance market reforms.
